So I am wondering... how's it going with the ACE inhibitor?

I have no idea if it's a quirk or a rude stare, but I think if you don't feel like having a conversation that's perfectly fine. I'd be inclined to put a little "MYOB" pin right there on your sleeve. . . . ;). Have a good day.

Don't know if it helps one bit, but when people do public speaking for a living they develop quirks. You'll find, if you look, that most teachers lecture to one half of the class -- either right or left. If you find him staring at your shirt it may be that he is curious, or it may just be that he is trying to focus on a point that looks like he's looking at the people who he is talking to but is not making eye contact. Kind of a cheater's way to look like you are addressing the crowd personally without getting distracted by facial expressions, etc.
If it helps at all. . . .

      Got it, thanks.
I tried the dart method on her tonight, maybe she was just better disposed but I think it made a big difference. Tried it on my own thighs, and it did sure feel better. Thanks.

Thanks for the scans, I couldn't find the last one on painless injections for some reason, but I think I've got a good amount to work on and it will help a lot.

Oh, it made sense about the diabetes self-care thing, that it was suited for her but not yet for her daughter. Just no clear answers, is all I mean, that ydmv thing is frustrating.

Will hop onto the other links real quick. Todd read quite a bit, but I think he's kind of getting set that we'll want both when we can. Thanks again.

So, I'm checking out "Diabetes Self-Care" following your link, and finding that she chose against it for her kid for now, right after "My CGMS saved my life." This is going to take some thinking! But I have made my husband read all this info so maybe I can just dump the responsibility on him!

Thanks -- please don't be scared I'm going to try to give her real low carbs. We try to give her complex carbs and to space it out and balance it, I'm thinking I need to work harder on that, is all. I have a tendency to fall back on banana and grapes, and she spikes, and I don't think that feels good.
I don't know Brensdad at all, but he's been very nice to me. I may see if I can ask some advice as we get further down the line. I thought about starting a "Should we. . . " thread, but I see lots of info on going on the pump and the monitor and imagine I should try to absorb that. I guess I'm a bit concerned about how it will feel to her, physically and otherwise, since she can't verbally communicate, and I know you are widely read and have paid attention to a lot of folks opinions here. I know this is a question just about everyone on the board has had to face. Appreciate your info, have read it all through and will do so a few more times, we see the folks at Barbara Davis Monday and I want to know my own mind before we talk. Thanks.

Thanks so much, I might have missed it (your answer to my post). That's a lot of very thorough and thoughtful info, as usual.
Selah will be two in September. I am reluctant to try this, but I sure do test her a lot and while she is great about it right now I don't want to "burn her out". Her margins are just so narrow (maybe everyone's are, I don't know). I also suspect she is spending a lot of her time high, in between tests, although I frankly don't know what I'd do about that except try a lower carb diet or move to the pump. I'd value your opinion on whether this is something we should explore, or if we should deepen our understanding of her diabetes before we moved on to this step.

Just read your post, wanted to make sure you understood I had a ball on the health care debate thread. I imagine we are leagues apart, philosophically, politically, whatever -- it's funny that I seem to find that folks that are far left and far right (if you'll excuse the terms) often do better in these discussions than folks that are moderate -- not saying I know if that applies to you. I think the common thread may be that they both feel strongly about the subject, and they are both looking for an answer. Anyway, I have always felt your posts on any topic, including hot ones, were respectful and attentive to the opinions of the other party, and certainly you educate yourself on anything you choose to discuss. My difficulty was with folks that don't address the words, but attack the person, which you do not do and I hope you did not believe I was accusing you of this. In fact, I believe I may have seen this applied to your posts at times, although since I don't know the folks on the forum or the context I may have misread it. My only complaint is that you debate well, so you hooked me in, I have no self control when it comes to argument! Will check back occasionally, and watch for your posts. Thanks.

Didn't want to do this on the thread, but can you tell me what this is? I'd never heard this.
