Typography

The font in use is Myriad-Pro from Adobe's TypeKit. All weights should be available, but 100, 300 and 400 are typically used. The font is defined in the Customizer (Astra child theme for CWD), so choosing "Default" in the Beaver Builder modules will always pull the correct one. The only time you may need to explicitly choose Myriad-Pro from Beaver Builder is when a custom size is not presented in the module with the pre-selected Default.

There are some predefined modules that are more stylized than just a standard Heading or Infobox, although the stock modules should inherit the proper font settings and spacing.

Stand-Alone Titles

H1 - This is the main page title. There should only be one.

H2 - This is a secondary topic. It should be related to the main topic.

H3 - This is a tertiary topic title. It should support an H2.

H2 - This is another secondary topic. It should be related to the main topic.

H3 - This is a tertiary topic title. It should support an H2.

H4 - This is just a stand-out, alternative title. It's seldom used, unless in a call-out.

H5 - This is a smaller stand-out, alternative title. It's usually used as a title prefix, or in an aside.
Titles w/Content

These will be the most used modules. It includes consistent stylized page titles/separators/icons, etc.

H1 - Main Page Title

This is a standard Infobox. It has a title, an optional title-prefix (seldom used on the CWD site so far, and not shown here), and a rich text editor for the content.

H1 - Main Page / Topic Title

This is a stylized H1 title with centered lead-in content. This is used often on the older development site and has been used for laying out the new site's pages (see below.) There is an alternative version used for the Care Suggestions page. The content is set as bold in the text editor to offer a topical highlight. The underline above the title is provided by the class 'infobox-page-header', set in the Advanced area of the module settings.

H1 - Stylized Title w/Ad

This is a standard Infobox with an empty title, that can be used for breaking up content, or in the case where you are using a stylized title without a lead-in. And, here is some more Klingon: Boqha''egh denib denibya' denibya'ngan ghuy' jaj janluq piqard hod jev maqmigh me'nal mil namtun neslo' pujwi' qaj qarghan quy'ip qutlh saqjan senwi' rilwi' je tagha' tijwi'ghom ting ti'ang tlhoy yas wa'dich yiq yo'seh yahniv 'iw 'ip ghomey 'orghen rojmab. Modules/Rows
This is a smaller hero/slider. This size is currently only used on the home page. Sometimes the slider won't initially load when using the editor, but will show after you publish and save the page. You'll need to build a slider using the Smart Slider tools in the back-end and paste the shortcode into your content (this is just a simple HTML module.) One thing to note, the Typekit font may not initially render properly in the slider builder or page builder. It will render on the published page, though.

  2. Login to CWD and choose CWD Site Options (near bottom in left bar)
  3. Copy the Revive zone-id (from invocation code) to the Ad configuration
  4. Note the name that the ad has in CWD Site Options (if you create one, do not use spaces or odd characters -- treat it like a slug.)
  5. Open page in CWD Builder
  6. Drag CWD - Ad module from modules to a row (or create a new row for it.)
  7. Remove the size annotation from the HTML
  8. Update shortcode to reference the name you gave it in CWD Site Options

Short version: If it's the same ad as the home page, then just drag the module in, remove size annotation, and change the shortcode to use the ad defined in Ad Management, if different than the defaults defined in the module.

Story Submission.

Do you have a story to share about your experiences with diabetes? We want to hear from you! Tell us your story using the form below and we'll consider it for inclusion in the CWD Stories section of our website.

We want to hear from YOU!  Share your story with our CWD family! Click the button below and send us your diabetes story.

Either one of the above modules can be used to solicit Story requests. Look for CWD - Submit Story & CWD - Submit Story Button. Use whatever works best for your insertion point. NOTE: These are *global* modules, which means that they can not be updated.

These modules are intended to only work under the /stories section of the website. However, until we get enough submissions to build out that section of the website, these can be placed anywhere in order to start gathering stories.

Stories Editorial Workflow:

The editorial workflow is: solicit story, download image from form entry (Admin/Forms/Entries), and use that entry data to build new Story post (upload image here if applicable and after any necessary local edits for cropping/size/etc.)

This will support multiple categories, but do be mindful of the primary category that you choose. The primary category should never be marked as Featured. If the Story post uses multiple categories it will appear in filtered results on the additional categories.

The primary category will be part of the URL to the story, eg /stories/category-slug/story-title-slug. If the primary category needs to change, you may need to update the Story post twice before you see the slug change. Please do not change the slug after publication without consulting Dave about a redirect.
