so, i got this software thats supposed to make programming your pump and displaying your records so much easier. well i tried to use this stupid thing and all i get is "pump not found" or "meter not found." :mad: any ideas?

Curious- basal rates, isf, i:c's- what are they?

Just cuz I feel like asking- What are you're basal rates, isf, and i:c's? How often do you change them?

Mine would be as follows
12a-2a .20
2a-4a .15
4a-6a .30
6a-10a .55
10a-1p .45
1p-4p .20
4p-9p .55
9p-11p .45
11p-12a .30

I also take 10 units of Lantus at 11pm
Total of 19.50

ISF 1:40
targets: 6a-10:30p 80-100
12a-6:30a and 10:30p-12a 130-140

I:C 12a-11a 1:5
11a-12a 1:9

My new endo clinic is doing all the changing. They have been changing things at least once a week. I didn't have this many different rates 2 weeks ago.

Does anyone know how high the accu-check aviva meter will read? My meter just gave me 2 HI readings in a row:eek: and im freaking out wondering how high that is and how much to correct. Thanks if you can let me know.

I have the Minimed Paradigm insulin pump,
after i ate dinner today it randomly said no delivery!
which means my bolus for dinner and after didnt go thru!
and it was three hours later ( i went to sleep)
and now im 433!!
this is the first time ive been this high in a longgg time!
i cant belive this!:mad:

my mom and me were talking and i think i want to switch to the ping!
does the ping do this too?

so i recently received my onetouch Ping in the mail. and i have a lot of Deltec Cozmo insulin cartridges left over that i dont plan on using. i was wondering if anybody was interested in buy them for a very small discounted price. They are 300 ml cartridges and manufactured by Smiths medical. Let me know if you are interested:)

Skin discoloration?

Hey all,

I have a question. My mom and I have noticed that I have this skin discoloration on my neck, right about where my thyroid is. It kind of looks like a faded bruise, and it's been there for about a week. Anybody know what this could possibly be? It's not sore to the touch, so that makes me think it's not really a bruise. I just got over a small cold, but somehow I don't think it has anything to do with that. Any ideas? Is it D related? :confused:

i was just curious on how you guys deal with stress and how it effects your blood sugars.

im still in highschool, but 2 out of my 8 classes im in Auto, and i deal with alot of younger guys that stress me out alot, and it seems to be drivin my bs up the wall..

managing sports and diabetes

How do you manage your diabetes care and sports? My 13 yr old plays first string volleyball, basketball, soccer, football etc. Today he played a 2 hr marathon VB tournament after school, was home for 1hr and went to a 1 hr BB practice. His BS was high(17-sorry canadian #s) after vb and 14 at bedtime but I expect he will drop through the night. His BS is pretty well controlled on Humulin N and humolog-he likes this regime at the present time and does not want to pump or do MDI. He was diagnosed 1 yr ago and lately has not been comfortable testing in front of people. He would never come off the court and whip out his tester and test his BS. He feels his lows and treats them asap. This has never been a problem in a game situation.He sips gatorade throughout the game. His snacks consist of granola bars or energy bars when away from home. He doesn't want to fuss around eating apples, crackers etc.- his goal is to get out quick on the floor or field and start playing- missing one minute of action is not an option. I just wondered how others manage with sports as far as testing , snacks (what kinds you eat) and so on. He has an all day VB tournament next week and I want to make sure he is prepared and safe. Thanks in advance for your suggestions.

Hey, Im Amanda,
let me give you a slight introduction..
im 17 and ive had type one for 16 years.
i have never been in control,
i am just now workin my butt off to try to start,
but it seems like i need motavation, or someone to talk to about it,
or just be friends with someone who has it!

no one in my town really knows..ive had people tell me that i have an std..gosh sometimes people are just so stupid..

hopefully i can find a few new pals :)

so i am now looking into the Animas OneTouch Ping. i currently have a deltec cozmo 1700 and need to upgrade due to the company going out of buisness(tisk tisk) and was wondering if anyone had any suggestions or hints to using the Ping. let me know!

pizza + candy

I went out and walked with my nieces and nephew while they went trick or treating, so I wound up having a couple pieces of candy.
When we got home my dad ordered pizza, since we were (and still are:rolleyes:) watching the world series (GO PHILLIES, lol:p)
So we had pizza, and if you mix that with some candy (:cwds:only about 2 small pieces) and you get 337. I corrected with 3.6 units.
Oh well, I'm not beating myself up over it, it's only one number, and it's coming down, and the pizza was really good, so it was all werth it. (hahah, wow that was bad (He plays for the phillies))
Anyway, how was everyone's Halloween? Hope everyone had some good bg's.

Hi. If you're reading this I want to thank you. As you may remember, about this time last year i joined this community. During my time here i did some lying. i dont remember everthing i lied about but i know one of them was open heart surgery. that was a major exaggeration i had a minor procedure but not a valve transplant. I want you to know how sorry i am for lying but i hope you can understand why i did even though i really dont. last year i was going through a major depression and was eventually diagnosed with bipolar disorder. i felt alone and was looking for attention. i know there is absolutely no excuse for what i did and i am really truly sorry. one thing i never lied about was having type 1 diabetes and celiac disease. i really truly do have those 2 conditions. i would like to continue posting here again if yo will accept me and i promise to stick to only diabetes related or funny OT things. no more of my extra medical crap. i promise. again thank you for reading and i hope you can accept me back.
