I googled around and I saw that one Israeli company is developing such a contraption. I also saw that another company had made one commercially available, but is no longer offering it!
The whole idea of a non-invasive glucose-measuring watch is music to my ears, almost too good to be true!
What is the scoop

Because people like you, and me :), would LOVE to have such a thing, there's been lots of "investment" scams based on the $billions Market Opportunity.
Some of the companies didn't start out as scams-- they really thought they had something. But as the continued to try and separate the 'glucose' measurement from the background noise of many other chemicals in the body (chemicals with similar responses to their measurement techniques), they always found that their technology didn't really work. And then, in horribly mistaken "face saving" behavior, they don't admit the it doesn't work-- they don't have the guts to tell their angry investors that it didn't "pan out".
non-invasive measurement is NON-TRIVIAL, in the extreme. If you want to understand the details of the problem, I highly recommend The Pursuit of Noninvasive Glucose: "Hunting the Deceitful Turkey", which is available as a PDF on the Internet. (129 pages.) The Author, John L Smith, is retired from Lifescan, where was the Chief Scientific Officer. (He knows A LOT about bG monitor science! :D)
