Hey everyone, I'm kinda scarce online during the holidays, but would like to ask for your prayers and thoughts for the next couple of weeks, which will be especially busy.
I didn't talk much about this before, but Grace had a sleep study done last month to check her for sleep apnea. Thankfully she does not have that, but the Dr did see unusual, seizure-like brain activity, so on Monday she will have an EEG to find out if she is having seizures. Unfortunately, the place she's having the EEG done, scheduled her for 8 AM AND wants her sleep deprived at least 8 hours. oh my. I guess she and I are in for a movie marathon beginning at midnight Sunday night.
We saw Endo yesterday, and the visit was relatively uneventful, but in light of the possible seizures, we are getting a 3-day CGMS done sometime next week to rule out her sugars causing them. This was also her 'annual' appointment, where she has the full blood-work instead of the finger poke A1C, so she finally figured out (after pitching a pretty much full-blown fit working up to the actual poke) that the blood draw didn't hurt all that much. At least she stopped crying right away, LOL. She says next time she won't cry, now that she knows how it feels. I suppose it's helped that she's seen mom get her blood drawn about 8 times in the last month!;)
I'm rushing to get all my medical things taken care of before my insurance drops Dec 31-- I also have a sleep study scheduled for the 15th, an U/S on my thyroid Monday afternoon (it's been enlarged for a while, even when my TSH came back fine), eye check (I'm hoping to get glasses, I need them!), etc etc. I go to the OB/GYN tomorrow, unfortunately alone though. Dh and I have decided that since the hsg was not very helpful in determining why I got pg in the first place, that we will take it as a fluke, and quit using any protection. We just won't worry unless I get pg again, and if it does happen, THEN make a decision. If anyone didn't read my post last week, the hsg test showed that my tubes are still blocked from my tubal ligation, so the Dr cannot tell how I got pg.
I'm going to pursue getting a Paradigm while I'm insured, so that I at least will have a pump and supplies covered now, rather than when I am in desperate need and have to end up paying for one out of pocket. I'm down to about 3-4 months of supplies for my 508.
Anyhow, long-winded me should get to bed! I'll let you all know if anything serious comes up, esp. with Grace's EEG.
