Yup It's true...this time on her left foot's big toe. this started about a week ago with her saying that her toe was hurting a little. Then I noticed her BG were way up, constantly in the 250-300:cool: I take a closer look at her toe nail...unbelievible..its all red and puffy. I call the Dr and got her in this afternoon, he said I got her in just in time, the infection was starting to spread. He cut the nail back and permantly removed that side of her toe. Poor kid, it hurt so bad even with the shots to numb it...not to mention how much pain she was in an hour later when we got home:eek:
She is going back in two weeks and if this toe has healed enough he is going to do it to her other toe because he said its starting to grow in again.

This is just my suggestion. When I was a teenager (16) I suffered with in grown toe nails. It was awful! Both big toes. I was a swimmer, volleyball player, and softball player, and my feet suffered. It was painful. My Mom took me to a Podiatrist, and I had both sides of BOTH my big toes nails removed. It was the best thing I've ever done. They numbed me up SO good I didn't feel a thing. A couple of days following wasn't too pleasant, but for these 20+ years later of NO PAIN, it's the best thing I EVER DID!
I would take her to a Podiatrist, get the two big toes done at the same time and it's done and over with. Don't get them removed only when she has pain, why go through that 4 separate times.

This is what he did yesterday, he ( the podiatrist) removed the side of deanna's toe and root so it will never grow back. He is doing to do it to the other toe as well in a few weeks. He wouldn't do both toes at the same tim, he said it would be to much for her to handle. and after the pain she was in when we got home, im glad we didnt do both toes. so far its only been the one side of each toe that grows in. so unless we really have to he is only going to remove the problem sides.
