I was told by a little birdy that there is a parents monitor in CA..its actually being used and just waiting for FDA Approval..

its like an alarm clock, with graphs instead of the time, and will have speakers, for alarms and such.. woo hoo!!! how cool is that? :D

To elaborate more I believe it is going to be bluetooth. I think we will probably see a new pump too with/before that launch. I know there is a new one sitting in FDA. I have "heard" that it may be a while before approval as they are trying to integrate the CGMS more, something about if you sensor hits 40 it will shut off the pump. I personally don't like the idea. I know that at night if Westin is laying on it, that could happen and that would mean it would shut off the pump. I can see it really taking a while for that to get approved. We will see. I know that at some stage (I am not sure if this is with this monitor or not) you will be able to get sensor readings over your blackberry. So anywhere in the US you could get alerted to low or high sensor readings. That would be nice but probably some more technology that I can't really afford! :)

I too have been anxiously awaiting the parent unit. I don't understand why it even needs FDA approval if it's just displaying the info from the pump or guardian unit. hmm...

I hope the blackberry/blue tooth is available soon. I think it could be the best of both worlds. I know I'd wake up to a cell phone ringing, and seeing Emma's numbers from across town, across the country or just across the house... priceless! :)

Sounds awsome! For now I will use the "shackin up" system until I see a price tag. I would hate to have to upgrade the pump so soon after starting it though :o Anyone know if insurance companies pay for an upgrade? Probably not...........
