tomorrow is day 9.. its our first sensor.. I'm very happy we've made it to day 9.. I'd push it longer but I have a followup appointment on thursday with the cde and the rep to see how things are going.. The sensor is suppose to end at 1:23 exact LOL.. I wanted to give K a bath tomorrow but I don't want to do it in the middle of the day.. so should I just disconnect the sensor tomorrow and give her a couple of hours without that thing on her butt.. or just change it out and let her take a bath with it on later in the day? I'd also like to show DH how to insert it since he hasn't done it yet.. but i don't want to go without data LOL..

and I want to make sure I have everything right..

~emla for 45minutes
~clean area, insert sensor
~let sensor get wet for 5 minutes or so
~connect transmiter, it'll then start its 2 hour warm up..
~calibrate at 2 hours
~calibrate within 6 hours

to charge sensor, plug it in, when green light stops blinking its done charging? I charged it on day 6, but it was literally on there for 30 seconds before it stopped blinking.. I left it on longer.. shouldn't it actually take longer??

is there anything I'm forgetting? her pump site is getting changed tomorrow as well..

oh, does anyone else find they go through batteries like crazy now? we could use an energizer battery for a month before the minilink. we've gone through 1 batter in a week! I had to change it on day 2, and now its day 9 and only 1 little lonely bar left! so, we'll put that on the list of things to do.. I should buy stock in energizer batteries too!;)

Kim that all looks good to me - great job!! We only have the Guardian - no pump attached so we don't seem to use that many batteries, and I think the "newer" the transmitter the faster they charge. I could be wrong on that, but it seems to take longer now.. Day 9 - awesome!

Increased battery usage will slow a little when you aren't looking at it all the time! :)

Make sure to watch for the green light to flash when you plug the transmitter into the sensor. Last night we had to wait hours before we could get a flashing green light. First time that has ever happened to us.

this continues to flash until is all recharged.. correct?

Make sure you buy the energizer lithium batteries, they last much longer than the regular energizers.

Yes, in the charger, the charger does flash until finished charging. I am speaking of when you hook the transmitter up to the sensor. It will flash a few times with a green light. Make sure it flashes. If it doesn't, pull it off and try again later.

although SOME people find that the accuracy is a lot better if they delay inserting the Transmitter for a couple hours, so that it's actually been warmed up for 4 hours when the "2 hours" timer goes off.

In fact, some people insert the "new" Sensor the night before, while the Transmitter is still running plugged into the old one, letting it truly "warm up" for 9-12 hours. YMMV!
