Well, I had my local minimed rep come this morning. We took the sensor from the fridge an hour before we put it in. We tested the transmitter and it did work. We cleaned Hannah with an alcohol wipe, and the REP even put the sensor on. Since it has been in Hannah I have gotten about 4 sensor errors messages, that I have just cleared. It was time to calibrate 1 minute ago, and it said Sensor error again. I cleared it and now it says calibrate at 12:37, 5 minutes later. So, I wait...but I am thinking this is not going to work.

Do you think it is Hannah's body? Is it just not recognizing the sensors?

I am so bummed :(

We REALLY needed to get data from her to help her A1C to come down. We have so much trouble with her night numbers and I was hoping this would give a picture as to what was happening. Her doctor declared it a medical necessity that we use this...to better help her. Now I feel as if we are back at the beginning! I am in tears as I write this, because I just want my little girl to be as healthy as possible (I know you all understand that). I know it was nothing that I did wrong (with the sensor) as the Rep was shown everything I did..and she said it was all right.

I promised my daughter that if this one did not work we would take a break. Maybe I will wait until the week of Christmas (our next holiday break) and try it again.

Anyone else with toddlers, that just couldn't get the sensor to work? I feel so alone in this as most people on this thread seemed to be able to get it to work.

Anyway, thanks for listening!

I would call Mm and demand a new sensor! There is obviously something wrong with it, just because the tester says it is ok doesn't mean it actually is ok. If they want your money (which we all know they do :o ) they will send you a new sensor.

What a heartbreak - what a bummer for Hannah and you to have gone through all this and not have it work.

Are they not going to try a new transmitter?

Has the rep talked to her regional sensor specialist? These are the folks who work just with sensor related issue, covering a multi state area. They were just all together in California working with the R & D team so have all the most current information about the sensors. Maybe there is something that they know that could help. Your rep should be able to put you in contact with the one for your region. If not, PM me and I'll send you the contact info for ours.

lvmytwins02 - This is a complete hijack. I see that you say your twins have different birthdays. Sounds like there is an interesting story behind that! :)

Called my rep this afternoon and after her meeting she is going to call her regional sensor rep and talk to her. I asked her if we could just get a brand new start up kit from minimed, with a new transmitter...she did say that would be an option.
I'll let you know what the regional rep says.

Thanks for your support, I really appreciate a place where I can go to vent and ask for ideas. You guys have been great!

To answer the different birthday question...Hannah was born at 11:56am and Emma at 12:01....thus giving them different b-days!

For us - we did the diagnositc test on the transmitter and it came back fine - however, we ruled out that it was NOT the sensors and not us - so they replaced the transmitter and our problems went away. Your situation may be different , but it sounds somewhat the same. So sorry that your start of the CGM has to be this way - it's not supposed to be this way! And - no I don't think it's your daughter's body, it's the equipment!!!!! Hang in there! I'm curious at what the solution will be!
