Although I have read there is no link between the 2 , there seem to be rather a lot of children on the board who have both ( my son included).
What do you think and which was dxd first?

ADHD came first for us, D much later.

I think the hyperactivity is more of a nervous system issue whereas D (T1) would be the immune system. Not sure where the two of those would share common ground, maybe in the communication between different parts of the body?

ADHD first - my mom instinct tells me they're not related. ;)

Diabetes came first for us, but he was only 4-1/2. I don't think they would have even dx'd him with ADHD at that age. He was VERY active, and after he was dx'd with diabetes we thought it might help with the impulsiveness, but it only gave him more energy.

He was finally identified with impulsivity 6 months ago, been on Vyvanse since July, and mid-day is great. Especially since he is at school. BUT, evenings around here are torture.

No ADHD here, it's my step-son that has ADD...He's not hyper, just inattentive.
