But no time to play around with it today, or tomorrow, or Wendesday, or Thursday and so on and so on. Who am I kidding. Who needs sleep anyway. I will be playing around with it tonight when we get home from the dojo.;)

Trying to fit in the scheduling with the nurse. She will come tom my house since the endo is a (I am thinking bad words):D.
We are trying for next week before Thanksgiving. If the sensors were not so pricey I would be poking myself tonight.;).
My daughter is really excited. A lot more than i thought she would be.
Makes me feel that I did something good. I hope so much that it works well for her to help keep that level of happiness.

Best of luck!!
Remember: Only calibrate when blood sugar is relatively stable. For us this is before breakfast and before I go to bed. Ignore any reminder calibration blood drops from dexcom if they are not at the right time. It keeps on reading numbers whether you calibrate every 12 hours or not.
To help with this, have one meter designated as the Dexcom calibration meter and only use it for this purpose. All other testing should be done with another meter (we use the Omnipod like you so we use the Omnipod obviously :) )
Let us know how it goes!! I love hearing stories of seeing the trend for the first time. It is so exciting. :D

We don't need no Stinkin' Nurses! (JOKE). Not to fire up and use a CGMS, anyway. :p Of course, I spend most of every day fixing other people's busted gadgets, and softwares.... it's easy for ME, maybe not everyone else.
Did you get some pain-killer cream, to avoid that possible "issue"? Shooting in Minimed Sensors hurts more than the Dexcoms, but even Dexcoms are plenty bad enough for me. I use Topicaine whenever I have an opportunity to plan ahead.
Now, slightly OT: It's nice to have TWO One-Touch-Ultra meters avaialble for use as "calibration meters". That way, if you take an erronious bG (sugar residue on the fingers), you can prevent the Dexcom from "seeing" the bad reading by swapping meters. Plug in the alternate meter before doing the bG, and confirming (on the screen) that you're designating a new meter as the calibration meter for the Dex. Then take your reading and plug in the Dexcom. You can stay with this meter indefinitely, or switch back to other one in the same way on the very next calibration- because, whenever you switch meters, Dexcom doesn't use ANY of the meter's data from before the time it was designated as the calibration meter. (The "bad reading" is now from BEFORE the meter was re-designated as the calibration meter, and it won't be looked at.)

That is actually what I was thinking but the whole household is ill and I am not thinking clearly. Foggy head syndrome. Was afraid of jinxing myself. I have not got any numbing cream yet. Will pick some up.
Thanks fro the tips guys.
I am sure there will be many more questions once we are hooked up.
