We have our Endo appt on the 15th. Our Endo goes by the FDA, and won't prescribe the CGMS until Abby was 7. Well this month is the magic month:D and Abby turns 7 and I'm prepared to get our scrip for the CGMS on Thursday!!!

I'd just like a tip, if you have any, on the possible insurance battle I have ahead of us. Anything I should ask the doctor for while I'm there (it's an hour and a half away). I have not seen Coventry (our insurance) on any sites stating they've been covering it:(.

Anything I should buy or do before we start the CGMS, other than training of course?

Ask for a letter of medical nec and if your endo will write it, ask for a letter stating hypo unaware, hyper unaware, or whatever the endo will agree to write. I wouldn't spend alot of time getting letter until you get a denial (and demand it in writing with specific reasons for denial).

Make sure you get a case worker if you are denied. Do not let them put you off from one area to another, get a case worker to handle this particular denial. Until they have actually given you a denial you won't know their specific reason for denying coverage and you could spend alot of time looking things up that won't apply. Just make sure if they do deny that they send you the EXACT reason for denial in writing, this gives you amunition for an appeal.

Hope that makes sense :D
