Hi everyone. I am happy to have found this site. My son Owen was diagnosed in April at the age of 14 months. Needless to say my husband and I were in total shock and I think we still are. We live in Pueblo, Colorado and we travel to Denver to the Barbara Davis Center for Owens treatment. He is currently on Lantus, NPH, and Novolog. He has to my surprise adapted well to the daily testings and shots. We have noticed a huge change in his personality since being diagnosed. Owen before diagnosed was very easy going and always happy never fussed. Now he is very irratable, and throws horrible screaming tantrums even when his bg's are normal. Has anyone else experienced a personality change in your child? It is very frustrating and hard as we have three children, are oldest is 3 and Owen has a twin sister. He has demanded a lot of attention. Currently Owen is 16 months and teething again and his bg's have been all over the place. Has anyone else had this problem?
Again I am so glad that I have found this site. Any response would be great. I don't know anyone who has a child or themselves has type 1 diabetes.
Kris
