A student in Abby's class brought in a huge cookie with frosting from the Great American Cookie company for a birthday. I looked on the web-site, no nutritional information (I left a nasty email), and nothing on Calorieking.com. I called the store and I got helped by some young woman who doesn't understand and didn't understand what she was reading off to me so I don't know if I got the information right?!
I got 103g = 67 carbs
ANYONE KNOW OR CAN HELP?
Abby is eating this at 2:45 and it's 1:00 now...

Yikes. I'd probably guesstimate...67 sounds pretty good.
I really can't help. Sorry.

So, the cookie weights 103 grams?? If it was pure sugar, then it would be 103g of carbs, but it's not.... Frosting is....67 would be a good guess-timate for me.

I just read Charotte's post, guesstimate!?!?! I thought I was the only one that said that LOL!!

i'd consider 60 carbs in each 100 gram.

Sorry - I'm not familiar with it. I just always go to dietfacts.com when all the other places (calorie king) doesn't have an answer. Try using their search as just a cookie to see what you get.
Hi Lanae,
IMO it's AT LEAST 51 carbs and likely closer to what you posted earlier.
I use .6 for frosted cookies at our house.
Hope this helps.

It seams to be really high in fat so you could have her dual wave it at the 67 carbs and check her when she gets home - if she's running an okay number you can back off the dual wave or adjust accordingly.

now that you're not sure of the carb count i suggest you check at 1 hour point as well as 2 hour pp.

The 67 seems to be a good estimate for the cookie only.
Probably more for the frosting, anywhere from 7.5 to 9.5 per TBSP.
You should be okay.
Good luck!

Well, I think a normal chips ahoy cookie is something like 10 each. I'm not familiar with that cookie company, but if that's a big mall cookie, 67 sounds right.

sounds like a monster cookie, almost the size of a minipizza! But if the weight is what you say it is, then the carb count sounds reasonable..

And again - use the number as a guess and have her dual wave to check on it over time.

LOL - ok, but she isn't eating the whole pizza-sized cookie by herself, is she??! In terms of accounting for the carbs it contains, it sounds like you're on track.. So assuming she gets say 1/10th of the beast - so you have 6 or 7 carbs to deal with.

No she's not getting the whole thing (in her dreams). LOL !!!
But they cut it all up, different sizes, different amounts of frosting on each piece, to each kid. Oh, I've got a headache!
Thank you!

:DThank you EVERYONE for your help!:D
The cookie has been carb counted! I told the school nurse I posted this ON-LINE and they would figure it out, just give me a little bit. :cwds:
It's frustrating when your not there to see the size, and the amount of frosting, I just want to make it as easy as I can on the nurse. :o
I hope Abby is enjoying the party! It cracks me up to see all the "drama" behind a kid wanting to have a cookie at school--who would've thought that it would take a village to eat a cookie!:D

Not only the drama, but the panic it puts parents into, scrambling to find the info.
I'm VERY thankful for this site. I truly don't know what I'd do without all of you! :cwds:

Too funny. We talk about this forum being our online family but it is just so true. This statement made me think of me hollering at the kids!! We talk to each other on here JUST like family!!

I just saw this post! How did her numbers come out? I hate those giant cookies from the AM cookie company. Hailey had one and I just weighed it on the scale as a choc chip cookie and corrected later.

Lanae, how many carbs did you end up bolusing? Did you do a combo? I know it is only a matter of time before we face one of these monsters...

Wonderful news!!!
I got very good carb information off the site MaggieM gave me...
I think it was 129grams was 85 carbs.
Abby had 36 carbs and the nurse did a normal bolus-
She was a 139 before and 2 hours later she's a 147 :D
(her target is 150, so I'm very happy)

That's awesome!!! Yay!!! Glad she felt good afterwards. We don't do a combo bolus for sugary cookies either- Mia always ends up high otherwise. I am so happy for you! :)
