Hi everyone , after all the brouhaha re the above. I wondered if there was anything to take away from from all this.
Diabetes UK are reporting on the report in the New Scientist about so called " Double Diabetes". (See post "are type 1 and 2 the same?") I have heard something in the past about insulin resistance in type 1 but not heard this term "double diabetes".
Do you think that by following normal advice for diet ie 5 portions of fruit and veg, less saturated fat , less refined carbs coupled with daily exercise it is possible to stop this.
Is it possible there are other factors involved, possibly problems of absorption from lumpy sites?
Obviously all this is open to conjecture but as our kids face a lifetime on insulin I would welcome everyone's thoughts on Insulin resistance in type 1or AIID for life as I may now call it!
