I'm beginning to think that the letters T Y P E 1 do not exist on these people's keyboards.

I think the story was taken from a series of articles in the Toronto Star about Diabetes. Here is the link if you want to read the other articles.

And they do mention type 1 diabetes, but just not in this article.

I have an appt with the Editor of our small local paper next Wednesday, for an article about "Kids and Type1 Diabetes" for NZ Diabetes Awareness Week later in November. I have all the official press releases on hand, and of course our own story to tell SO I'm hoping the article will come out saying what we need it to say. :cwds:

These articles upset me as much as anyone here. But here is my question...
Who's job is it to educate the public between Type 1 and Type 2? Is it the person writing the article? Is it JDRF or the ADA's responsibility? What in the world do we have to do, who do we have to tell, how many times do we have to go over this? Should we start a petition to change the name of Type 1 D? I'm totally serious...That is the only thing I can think to do?
Does anyone have some ideas on a new name for Type 1?
