Ugh! We have been very lucky for nearly two years to have a really good Endo team very close by. There was actually no pedi endo here for 8 years up until just a few months before Zeb was diagnosed. She has been great for us, wrote the script for the pump as soon as we said we were ready and really let us take the lead once she knew we knew what we were doing. Well we got a letter the other day saying she is leaving end of November and gives a list of other pedi endo's in "our area" the closest of which is 2+ hours away. I am so disappointed, I have always understood how lucky we have been to have good, current care so close to home when so many of you travel for good care or fight stubborn endo's for your child's best interest. Looks like we will be joining the ranks who travel for care. The letter did say that they are already searching for a replacement so maybe we'll get lucky and someone new and wonderful will fill the post, but knowing there is worldwide shortage of pedi endo's I'm not gonna hold my breath.

That really stinks. Our endo is retiring so I'm also in the process of finding a new doc. But luckily there are docs close by. Good luck, hope they get a new one in your area so you don't need to travel so far.

My worst fear is the day our CDE retires. She is my rock! Our endo is superb, but the cde and I just really clicked.

Whenever my kids talk about what they are going to be when they grow up I always suggest a pediatric endo or CDE!

Our pedi endo quit, too. It was really hard to handle, but we made. I cannot tell you how scared I was at first.
