I know a lot of you got your blood keytone meters at Walgreens. We don't have one in our area, but my husband is out of town and stopped there. The one they have does both blood glucose and keytones. It's $9.99. Is that the one? Thanks!

not sure if that's the one since we got ours for free, the one we use is called precision xtra.

yes, the precision xtra does both ketones and glucose but you have to use different strips (obviously) for both. it is the ONLY blood ketone meter out there. So if it says ketones, then that is the one.
Personally I just use the precision for ketones and I did this mostly to avoid confusion with school and grandparents over what strips to put in when. :)

Thanks so much! I thought it there was only one out there. But didn't remember hearing about the BG part of it. Gotta call him back and tell him that's the one! Thanks again!!

yes, the precision xtra does both.. it will come with BLOOD glucose strips, you'll need to purchase the ketone strips seperately..
I believe there is only one meter that test for ketones.. would be nice if someone would make a combinatino meter that did both, at the same time..

We have the Precision Xtra that does blood keytones, yeah it is nice to check keytones with a finger poke but the test strips for checking keytones are VERY expensive and VERY hard to get. Good luck.
