Seth came home from his dad's tonight low, it took two juices and a Go gurt to get him to 109. He had hamburger helper for dinner...Last Sat. he came home from his dad's at 497:eek: He had had a different hamburger helper that night too. For the record though, my ex does normally cook healthy meals, all this HH is not the norm.

Is it really that hard to judge:confused:

Ex nae on the hamburger helper eh?

Sorry! The headline of your message gave me a good laugh. I imagined that glove creature with devil horns! I always hated those dinners when I was little. It is probably to early for me to be on the computer.

LOL "Hamburger Helper is Evil":D
Hopefully your ex won't cook HH anymore-or at least when your son is there. I've never had HH and certainly won't now.

We've never had a problem. But, we are diligent with the measuring cup and portions. We measure and weigh before she eats, and then weigh anything that's left to get an exact measurement. If we do that, she's right on the mark.

I don't use hamburger helper, but I cook pastas with meat a lot and I think it's hard to judge what the count is because my kid would rather eat the meat than the pasta part.

Hamburger Helper is indeed evil..There was a time when I cooked it as a last resort and even if we measured it correctly (so we thought) I think there are hidden carbs in it that are not counted for on the box..Same with tuna Helper..So I stay away from them..

Thanks for the tip!
My husband brings the "extras" home from fishing trips with "the guys", I'll tell him to skip the HH and bring the extra beer home instead!

I keep HH around for a back up meal. The last time I made it, it boasted 5 1 cup servings, or there abouts. It had 3 1 cup servings, which to me is a lot more then to be able to claim about that many. So I can see where their carb count may be off on the label..........

Zach is fond of the Cheeseburger Macroni and Beef Stroganoff versions of HH. We haven't had problems with it.

His mom hates it though, so we only have it on nights when it's just him and me at home for dinner. ;)
