Hi everyone. Just wanted to let you all know that November 14 is the first global recognition of World Diabetes Day at the United Nations in NYC. You can be part of the 500 person Human Blue Circle and join the procession taking a symbolic 246 step march to Guastavino’s at 59th street in honor of the many people around the world with diabetes and to also participate in a diabetes rally!
And for those American Idol fans like me -Elliot Yamin is performing the JDRF Promise to Remember Me song.
Should be an historic even!
We are organizing a group of people from our local chapter to charter a bus and attend! Can't wait.
The website is www.worlddiabetesday.org

Oh and I forgot to mention - each year the World Diabetes Day celebration focuses on a different theme. This year it is D in children and adolescents!

Bummer it's not on a weekend! We definitely would come down for it (we're from So. CT originally). Of course, we could always do the shuttle down for the day...hmmm

I'm going to talk to the school and see if they will observe it. Maybe work it into the day some how.
