I went in to Ivan's room late last night to check his bg's and when I opened his hand to get his finger there was a note written inside the palm.

I love u mum

He's not supposed to draw on himself - but how can you be mad at something like that.

That's precious! He sounds like a sweetie. Nope, he definitely shouldn't get in trouble for that.

Oh my gosh, that is just about the sweetest thing I have ever heard based on the situation of diabetes and that you have to test his blood sugar, and he has to get sticked. That melts my heart. :cwds:

Ah, you mom's are such suckers! ;)

You know the reason he wrote that there was because he knew that if he wrote those words, he'd be able to write on his hands and avoid getting in trouble for it.

With that in mind . . . you gotta love the mischivious games our children play with us. It's still cute, and how do you punish a child for briliant, manipluative creativity, an asset that no parent really wants to stifle to much.

True, I opened the other one thinking there might be 'and Dad too' but there was a pirate, sword out, eye patch on.

But he saved the writing for his left hand as he's a righty. The pirate wasn't nearly as artistic LOL

Oh what a sweetie.
My son always tosses a huge fit in the night when I test him, but one day in sunday school the kids were filling something out about "how I know my parents love me" and Nolan drew a picture of a bloody finger and a moon, and they asked him what it meant, and he said, "my mom stays up and checks my blood sugar every night, and I know she loves me because she loves to be asleep so much, but she stays up to make sure I am ok."

I love the note on the hand.

What a sweetie.

Even if he had ulterior motives it is still sweet to see that during the night.
