Julia has been wearing high heels the last few days. Today I noticed her feet have sores on them. I don't think they are related to diabetes, they look like they are because of the new high heels grandma bought her that she has insisted on wearing. She doesn't have neuropathy. Do you think I should have her seen for them, or should I just keep them clean, and make her wear socks and tennis shoes that are comfy?
Thanks for any advise,
Jamie

I would just keep an eye on them. Treat the sores like you normally would. Jason got a new pair of sneakers 2 weeks ago, wore them without socks and scraped up his heals too. (He also took a tumble on the concrete wearing them and got a nice big scrape on his arm...poor little klutz!) He has healed up just fine with the regular soap/water/SpongeBob band-aids regime. :)
I would treat 'em like normal sores. Foot issues may come many years from now, but can most likely be avoided with good BG control.

Thanks for the replies. That's what we've done, but with strawberry short cake band aids :D Gotta love kids and anything sticker like. As long as they start to look better within the next few days we'll just treat like an owwie.
