I'm fed up with the inaccuracy of my Accu-chek aviva meters. We've checked against the endo's venous blood draw three times, on three different accu-cheks. The first time, the accu-chek was about 10% high, which was fine with me. I lost that meter. The second time, it was a little over 30% high, which was not at all fine with me. I switched meters. This most recent time, it was 20% high.
My endo says that you can't rely on it to always be high and just adjust from there either.
My insurance covers Accu-chek and Prescision meters only. I was thinking that the Accu-chek Active, which changes color on the strip, might be more accurate, or at least let me check that it's not 50% off or something crazy like that. Have any of you tried the accu-chek active and some other accu-chek? Can you tell me about accuracy?
