I have a very some what stupid question; We go for our pre-pump class on Tuesday, so I thinking that because it is a 4 hour class, do I need to bring Haley( I know she's the one with "D"), but this is our first class, if she was older I would bring her, am I wrong for not letting her go. I mean she 4, is she going to understand everything that is going on in that class?

I would call the endos office. It's possible that she doesn't need to be there for it, especially since you are the one going to be working the pump.
We were lucky, Animas came and did pump training at our house, so the girls just went on as normal, we called Abby in when we needed to try a set on her etc.

There is something to be said for being able to devote 100% of your attention to the class rather than having some of it diverted to your daughter.
I would check with the endo too. At that age I think I'd rather try the sets on myself and work with the dr., CDE, etc. on what they think is best. I think the sets can be scary - if they are pulling out all the sets to show with the big needles for insertion....let's just say I'm not afraid of that stuff but even those angled sets made me hesitate.
We also used Emla cream (leave on for an hour or so) before putting in a set. I pretty much didn't let William see the needle on his set (Rapid D) for awhile - I just kept it out of sight behind him, etc. When he got curious and wanted to see it then I of course showed it to him.
All that really depends on your kid!

We have our pump class soon too, they said we have to bring Jenny, but she is 10, so I guess I can not really help. But I wish you a great pump start;)

we have our pump class scheduled for october 30th. i am planning on bringing hailey (she just turned two) because i am hoping to get her appointment with our endo scheduled for that same day before the class to save the drive and to do it all on one day off of work.

Ours was a conversation meeting/training and then looking at the pumps, so my 2 year old would have been a distraction. I think if the child is old enough to have input into the pump, maybe take them. If its going to distract you from paying attention to what you need to in order to choose the best pump, then I say don't take them.
