Hi everyone

My dd has had D since May last year. For the last month or 2 she has found injecting in her tummy painful. I have had to go back to doing the injections for her and in her arms. She is very slim so can't pinch much fat to inject into but the needle either hurts or won't go in at all. We are just about to start a new box of needles (we use unifine 6mm 31g). Even when I have been doing the injections it feels like the skin is tearing as you push the needle in. we don't use swabs before injecting as the nurse said that they toughen the skin.

Any ideas??

What about her butt? Or thighs? Maybe that would help, so there wouldn't be so many injections in the same area all the time?

Have you tried alternating the injection sites? With my ds he has them in his arms or his thighs - he wont have them in his tummy or his bum. Can you use finer needles ? My ds uses the novofine ones.

What about icing the site first? Though I'm not sure if this might affect the absorption of the insulin. ???
