We had her first appt. today at the Pediatric endo's.
All her tests are coming out negative and her A1c was down to 4.9 but she said it is usually lower in the office than at the lab anyhow so not to really pay too much attention to that. She gave us a new meter, One Touch Ultra 2. It is pretty neat. They wanted her to have a different meter than mine. So we did not get them mixed up.
They said she is not diabetic but does not mean that she won't be next week or next month. So that is why we are keeping a very close eye on her.
We are to check her bg at fasting and pre-meals and bedtime only. We have been given the go ahead to give 1/2 a unit of Novolog for every 100 above the 300 mark. But only if it is that before meals. I will call the office before I give the injection though. Just so they can confer with me.
Her urine test came back clean.
She did lose about a pound in weight though. And I told her that she has not had an appetite for about 1 1/2 weeks now.
My husband had to learn how to give an injection today on a teddy bear. He did fine with it.;)
