Hi. I am EmmasPapa. BrensDad is my son, EmmasMom is my daughter-in-law, and Emma is my granddaughter. We also have a wonderful grandson, Brenden, Emma's big brother.

My wife, Judi, and I will be frequent visitors to this site and look forward to sharing knowledge about this terrible disease and in dealing with it.

To start with, I have a complaint about the audible alarm on Emma's pump. We can't hear it!! My grandson has to alert us when she alarms. In our 60's, both of us have a hard time picking up that frequency. Does anyone else have that problem?

I will also post an occasional slideshow/video on YouTube. Here are the links to the 1st two:

So glad to FINALLY get a grandparent to post something else on here. There are a few who have posted but not many.

In response to your question, we haven't received a pump yet so I cannot help with this, maybe someone else will reply. Just glad that you posted!!!!

Welcome!! Glad you are here. Sorry I don't have advice on the alarms -- except that is a common complaint with the Minimed CGMS. Make sure your grandson knows how important it is that he tell you when Emma's alarm is going off. I'm sure he knows that though. :cwds:

I went to get my hearing checked and the Dr. told me that I don't hear certain frequencies and I have trouble picking up the thread of a 3 or more person conversation or a conversation with a lot of background noise.

Isn't age wonderful??:) Fortunately Brenden is very good about letting us know. I also stop her every now and then as she runs past and check the screen.

willdee3 - I'm not shy so you will probably see more posts.
