I am about to order some Frio cooling bags (boy they are expensive!) and wouldn't mind some suggestions. I am thinking of two x-large wallets plus either a single wallet or a duo pen wallet. The x-large wallets will be used to store about 4-6 bottles of Lantus and 15 3ml cartridges of Novolog while travel on planes and in cars. The single wallet or the duo pen wallet will be for day trips where we need to carry 1 insulin pen. We are going away for the summer for about 2 months.

Hi,
We have the Frio pen pouch, and recently we fit in two vials and 1 pen cartridge. I am investing in the larger one also, more because it is easier to get everything into. Just an FYI, the bags stay cool for at least a day longer than what the instructions say. They are expensive, but well worth the money.

Hi WendyC, is yours the duo pen wallet( fits 1 pen + two 3ml cartridges)? Do you find it small enough to fit in a small purse? I actually question the usefulness of the single wallet( which stores 1 pen or 2 10ml vials).
Anybody out there uses frio? Is x-large wallet good for long trip or is it too big and heavy? Would you recommend getting the duo pen wallet instead of single wallet for daily use?

Hi,
The wallet Frio is would fit into a purse, but it will be cumbersome. I'm thinking more in the terms of what else you would have in a purse. For example, I carry a meter and glucogon plus a tube of glucose tabs and usually a small juice box, and sometimes a snack. That is in addition to my wallet, cellphone, notebook and inhaler! I look like a packmule (I use a Vera Bradley backpack purse, it holds a lot of d-stuff plus mine nicely), gone are the days of the cute little kicky purses! We generally keep our Frio in our emergency bag when traveling. We haven't taken any trips yet where we would be that far away from our supplies, so we haven't had to carry extra supplies around as of yet.

Has anyone had experience with the Frio single wallet? Or would I be better off buying the duo pen wallet for daily use? Is the x-large wallet heavy and big for travel?

:) :) Has anyone bought a FRIO pump wallet? My whole family will be in an outdoor drama this summer (end of July - early August). No shade on stage and I'm guessing I need a way to keep his insulin cool. Any ideas?
