I am looking for a good, introductory T1 Diabetes video that I could share with Mia's new teacher/and or class. I am looking to give a basic understanding of what T1 is (and is not) without information overload. I thought I saw one a while back but can't seem to find it now :(.
Anyone?

About 2 1/2 weeks after Phoenix was dx'ed I went back to work and one of the ladys there gave me a video to share with his daycare its called
"It's Time To Learn About Diabetes"
a video on diabetes for children.
I dropped it off at Phoenix's daycare a week before he went back for the teachers and the aids to watch with the other kids in his room. Well it ended up being a great video, (they got parents concent to show it) one of the little boys at the center got the teacher and told her he thought Phoenix was low cause he was acting funny, she went and checked his bs and he was at 49, the little boy was only 4 :cwds: it tells the kids that just because (so and so) has diabetes doesnt mean that cant do stuff they can still play ect. I havent watched it in years so I cant remember everything that is on it but 4 years ago it helped teach the kids in daycare a lot about thier friend....

Oooh, that's a great idea!
I found out on the first day of school that a local pediatrician whose son is in 1st grade at Katie's school was diagnosed Type 1 last year. Now he's coming in to do Diabetes education with all of the staff members.
And he even told the nurse to give me his information if I was looking for a new pediatrician in the area (which I am, because we just moved here this summer). That rocks! :)

I found this thread from a while back. How can we get hold of this video? I remember it being quite good.

I have a movie, Diabetes: Staying in Balance
an introduction to Type 1 Diabetes for Kids and Their Parents
that I got in the hopsital. It has "The American Association of Diabetes Educators" in black letter on the front, and says it is provided by Novo Nordisk Pharmaceuticals.
I don't have a VCR or TV and so have never watched it.
