Ok here is what I put together. I could not fit all the pictures due to the length of the song but I did get 37 pic's in. I am making a longer 10minute plus video that will have all the pics, so if I missed one it will be in the next video. I hope it does all our kids justice, I would like to hear from them all what they think. Let's pass the link to as many people as we can. Could one of the admin pin this at the top so nobody misses it.

Wow! Magnificent! The way your words went with the photos was beautiful - so well thought out - you can tell you put so much planning in this. Thank you!
For anyone going to watch this at work - know you may cry the loud cry - I know I did at home just now. :cwds:
This is really beautiful - song, words, photos, everything. I only wish there was no need for this video. :( Staying positive though and praying for a cure!!!! :) I can see it happening - visualize it!!! Thank you again!!!!

I have family asking me some questions on the video - are the statistics with the video for Type 1 or the statistics for Type 1 and Type 2? I don't know being new to this myself. Thanks so much. I'm just really hopeful that with the new technology that the stats will be better soon. :cwds:

I found medical stats for diabetes Type 1 and Type 2 through the JDRF site. Unfortunately there just does not seem to be the medical stats just for Type 1. The kidney transplant stat scares the kageebies out of me - we have kidney issues.
Thanks again - a wonderful video!!!

All the stats I found around the net and are for Diabetes in general except for the 32 cases a day, and the only 5% of all diabetes cases, there is not much Type 1 only facts around.

thank you for that wonderfully put together video. My shannon was so happy to see that she was part of it. I can not watch it without crying, lets see if anyone who see's this and these few beautiful faces who represent thousands of those who are dealing with this disease. And hopefully they will reach out to help. thank you so much

Oh and thanks for the comments, I have to say it was as hard to do this video as my son's, it really hits home when you see all the faces of those dealing with this monster. And yet they all smile what an inspiration they all are. Thanks to you all for allowing me to make the video. The only pic that I chose in any order was the first one, I though that it was fitting for the opening line (she is so cute) of what does diabetes looks like, the rest were only clumped together, I put the youngest first and oldest last in no paticular order.

What a great video!!!!
It is really amazing what you can do with these pictures--this video is really wonderful
Also, here's a statistic I always try to work in when talking to people about the improtance of supporting new research:
Despite recent improvements in therapy, diabetes-related mortality among children has not declined for 14 years. It has been steady at about 2.5 - 3%.
This finding may be partially attributable to sociodemographic factors influencing access to care, but the remaining mortality may defy available treatment methods. Reducing childhood diabetes mortality rates below the current apparent plateau may require new prevention and/or treatment strategies.

Thank you so much for making this video. I was already crying just a few seconds into it (that SONG is beautiful), but then to see my own daughter's face pop up....well let's just say I am glad I am alone in the privacy of my own home! Waaaa! My daughter says "Mommy, it's ok, don't cry" Oh bless her precious heart.....Bless all the hearts of these precious children and their strong enduring parents!
Thank you again for making such a beautiful video & raising awarenes...this will go to everyone I know...and then some....
Blessings! THANK YOU!!!!

I am a man on a mission. My family has had many Type 1 Diabetics including my Uncle and my only sibling sister. Although it was all around me I was unaware of how life changing it was, my uncle lost his fight with Diabetes at the age of 40 and it has just recently hit home when I have made these video's. I hope we can get this to snowball. I will not rest until there is a cure.

It is for anyones use as long as it is only used to raise money for Diabetes or Diabetes research. Not to be used for anyones personal gain.

I just sent it to the Ellen Degeneres show. If you can think of any others to send it to please let me know or send it yourself.
As I watched the video I felt like I knew everyone of the children from seeing their pics on this website! It was very well done and hit home. You are so talented in the way you put this together and your choice of song and words! Thank you for so eloquently expressing what I feel inside!:cwds:

The stats are scary and we should definately be aware......but don't focus on the negative of the statistics in the video.....focus on the photos of our children living and being children, in a slightly different way than your average joe child, but they are living, and laughing and playing and doing all the things that kids their age are supposed to be doing. That is what I see when I watch the video.

Now how to we get the world of people outside of our loving "diabetes" circles to see it and "get it"? :D

If I get up the nerve to face my lack-of-computer-skills fear and try to post a picture, can I still get it in?!?
I was crying! I think more because I knew that behind every one of those kiddles' faces are parents that are dealing with the day-to-day struggles of watching a child deal with diabetes. :( I met a lady at a yard sale (of all places!!) the other day whose son has diabetes. Diagnosed at 12 and he is now 20. I caught my daughter popping some bubble gum in her mouth and had reached down to bolus her on the pump. The lady came over and very kindly asked if she could ask me a question ("Does she have Type 1 Juvenile Diabetes?"). I'm not a huggy kind of gal. I like my personal space! In the midst of the conversation, she said, "I've gotta hug you cause I know what you're going through!" and came at me with arms wide open!!!!! I gotta tell you, I loved it. I loved it cause I knew as a mom, she got it. She knew the thoughts that were swirling through my head...my fears...my concerns. That's why I love this board. Filled with people who I can come to who GET IT! :D
Now we have to watch the video again. :)
