Just saying hi to anyone else who is up to do BG check in the wee hours of the morning and can't get back to sleep. We just started pumping, so we are back to the 12 and 3 am tests until her basals are set correctly. At least with a pump I am less nervous about lows as I was in the beginning with MDI.

It is amazing how the body can function on little sleep. It's like having an infant again when you had wee morning feedings.

Anyway - good night or shall I say good morning.

Hi, I actually checked my daughter at 3am but can't get back to sleep! :p This is my normal routine...has been for 3 1/2 years. I was told before we started the pump 1 1/2 yrs ago that I wouldn't have to check her in the middle of the night anymore but if I don't I can't sleep. The 3 close calls that we've had have all occured in the middle of the night. Well I guess I better try to get back to sleep, school in the morning.

Hi! It's awful isn't it! I need lots of sleep & I was like a zombie when doing 3am tests. I think we tested at 3am for 4 weeks after Libby getting her pump. Now I just do it is her bsls have been odd- thankfully not often!

I was there to last night @ 12 and 3, our problem was highs, so I had to use that Precision Extra, while it's a great tool, it's a pain to get that huge drop from a sleeping child! But at least no ketones.

Right there with ya, we get up everynight at 12 and 3! I am usually able to fall back to sleep though. I had always woken up to test DH as well 1 or 2 times a night, he is on a pump.

It's nice to know I'm not alone. I have a clock with 2 alarms. They are set at 12am and 3am. Then I get up at 5:30 to get ready for work. A mothers job is never done.:p
