Prayers Please

Please lots of prayers needed for my friend whose Type 1 daughter has turned 18 and walked out. She doesn't have many supplies. She has hooked up with a very dangeriously seedy group of people.

The only way to get her help is if she goes into DKA and ends up in the hospital. Other wise they have no ability to stop her because she is 18 and won't tell them were she is....It's a horrible situation. Please please say lots of prayers that this young lady realizes the danger she is in and goes for help.

They are friends with our family but unfortuantely the daughter is not friends with my kids. This happened just 3 weeks ago (the first time; they got her back then because of DKA and ending up in hospital) and it was her close friends that told her parents where she was then so now she's not even calling her old friends this time.

It's a very situation. 1)First because she's diabetic 2) because the group she is with is very very very bad.

I'm sick to my stomach for my friend and her husband.

It's horrible enough when your child has Type 1, but then to have to worry about if they are taking care of themselves... I am so sorry for her parents. I hope their daughter wakes up one day and realizes that she needs to make taking care of herself her first priority.

I hope and pray she will be back home safe and soon!! and comes to the realization she needs the love and support of her family. That is a tough one. :(

This is my prayer.

To have parents that love you more then anything and turn your back on them is hard enough but if you've got a chronic illness that you've illustrated that you refuse to take care of (ie. the DKA adminstion 3 weeks ago; with kidney damage). That seems to make it that much worse.

The problem is she is running with a completely new crowd. Has kick all her life long friends to the curb last time they turned her in 3 weeks ago. Thanks for all the prayers. Still wasn't able to get hold of them tonight.

Well the prayers were answered. I'm not sure what has transpired in the last 24 hrs but the daughter answered the phone a minute ago. I'm hoping it means that they are planning on working things out and she found life on your own without any thought behind it wasn't a positive a experience.

My friend says she will call me later to talk. Thanks to all that said a prayer.

Oh Thank God !!! I have been reading on this thread and praying she would come home !!

I'm SO glad they made contact with her!! It's not all it's cracked up to be out in the big wide world. I hope she goes home to stay with her parents until she can make some wiser decisions and be on her own. What a terrible scare!
