My 17 year old (non-d) just told me that he was offered a holiday cookie by a classmate last week and she asked "do you want some diabetes"? He answered "no thanks, my brother has it". According to him, the look on her face was "priceless". Yes, it would have been nice if he had explained why the question was inappropriate, but I think that he probably stopped her from asking it in the future, huh???
Love the snappy comeback. Good for him.

I don't think any explanation was needed, I think his comeback made her feel as dumb as she sounded.

It is even funnier if you know my son. He is 6'2" but quiet and shy and someone who doesn't speak up very often. I think it happened so fast that he didn't even think about how his answer would stun her!

I love that!!! I wonder if she'll keep it in mind and not say it again... It would be interesting to know what was going inside her head as she walked away ;)
