Ocean's Fingers look really bad know. Since starting the pump I find we test more and was wondering if anyone has suggestions for healing them faster. They just look like pin cushions.

What about testing him on his arm part of the time? Our endo says it's ok unless he's low...Whenever I've done both to see how close it is. It's usually VERY close:)

I have heard that aloe helps but I haven't tried it personally. I do believe the lancets you are using and where you do the poke makes a difference. We use the BD ultrafine 33 guage lancet and only the sides of the fingers, never the pads.

Which lancing device do you use and what type of lancets? Folks swore up and down that the Accucheck Multiclix lancing device was much easier on the fingers and toes, but I never switched because it had not been a huge issue for us, as my daughter never complains about testing. Well, she got one up at D camp and we've been using it ever since and I swear I have never seen her testing sites look this good. She says that most times she can't even feel it. If you aren't using that and don't want to switch, you could always try the BD Ultra Fin Lancets 33 gauge. We used those before and they worked well. Heather's idea about alternate sites is great too. And if you don't already use toes, give it a try.

Also, I always change the lancet before Seth's tests his fingers, the sharper the better. And do you have the lancet turned to #1 ?
Accucheck multiclickx huh? Very interesting:D

My daughter loves the Multiclix. She used the lancing device that came with her OneTouch ultra-2 and then got a Multiclix after hearing they were less painful. She will never go back to the other lancing device. One time she misplaced the Multiclix. When I went to get her the other lancing device, she looked at me and said she would rather use a rusty nail :D.. Thank goodness she found her Multiclix soon after. Later I purchased a spare to keep on hand when they were on sale for $9.99 at Rite Aid. :)

Thanks;) I was wondering where I could pick one up:D
one thing that i believe makes a big difference is always using a new lancet. the d. team at the hospital has a poster of lancets photographed after 1 use, 2,3,ect.
after 1 use it is quite bent/dull, but you would not see this with the naked eye.
