I saw something in a post abut an infra red blood glucose meter. Interesting story---my ds spent the night at a friends house, friends' dad is a pump rep. He came home talking about something he put on his arm and it read his blood, no pokes. Not sure what it was, but something is definitely out there, hope it comes to market soon!!!

Yeah My Dad was telling me about this its like a pulse oximiter the little thing they clamp on your finger to test your oxygen level. Lots of news on technology which is great but then its takes them forever and a day to get it here!:(

OrSense received the European equivalent to FDA approval but perhaps just for the first generation.

We have a group here in our small little town that has developed the same thing and are hoping to start FDA approval in the near future. There are a number of similar items out there as far as I have heard but non have passed FDA.

I know oximeters have been around for a while at least for professional use. Years ago our 16 year old had a bad asthma attack and the ER used one on the end of his finger to monitor how much oxygen his blood was absorbing. I didn't know they've been configured for glucose levels as well.
