Hi I'm new here - my ds age 3yrs 7months was diagnosed 1st june typ1 through my insistence there was something wrong with him - if I had listened to my gp's things would have been worse.
We are using novarapid and levemir. Today a bit of a breakthrough ds is not cyring at his injections - he is slowly accpeting it I have been rewarding him with stickers lol. Diabetic team care has been fantastic I have to say. We have to start doing carb counting soon - nightmare as ds eats for wales lol

Hiya sorry to hear about the diagnosis but things will get better, my son was diagnosed aged 2 and also like u had we listened to our dr he would not be here.

When we got him to hospital he was on the verge of going into a coma:eek:

Hi... well here the doctor was only checking on my wifes insisting to "rule out" the possibility as she was drinking a LOT lately and was feeling often tired. The doctor tested and blood sugars were "Hi"... well that was it...

we got the same day appointment in the hospital and went though the "introduction" that afternoon, and the following morning... and the rest is history it seems.

The good thing is that it was all on time so our daughter is fine no complications for her, but yes quite a shock finding out that she is diabetic.
