I don't understand the reasoning behind keeping this drug on the market when it has been shown to increase the risk of heart attack by 43%! It's not as though this was the ONLY drug available to treat Type 2. There are other, less risky alternatives - including insulin which doctors and patients with Type 2 seem to think is way worse than a 43% increased risk of heart attack.
I know I wouldn't consider taking it. (Currently taking Metformin, have tried Januvia, Actos also)
