My son is at his first overnight Diabetes summer camp. The camp posts pictures every night and has podcasts of big events so I love seeing what he's up to. Tonight I saw the pictures and he's sitting there with another boy, both of them have half eaten cupcakes  I am now stressing over whether or not that is a gluten free cupcake. I pick him up Friday so I have 2 more days of stressing. Having a child with both diseases is a huge pain in the you know what!

I would guess it is gluten free since most diabetic functions we have gone to have that option.
We haven't gone to camp yet, but they sent out a questionaire asking if they had celiac.
Sorry for all of your stress, I can't imagine having to worry about the food too.

The D camp we go to in the summer has gluten-free foods for those with Celiac. Did you note that your son has Celiac on the camp form?

I did tell them he had celiac and I talked to the head cook. I was just worried because they had a carnival that maybe he just grabbed one. My husband emailed his counselor about an hour ago and already got a reply. They said everything they made for the other campers they made gluten free just for Jonah. I feel so much better. :) Thanks for being here CWD!

I'm glad it's gluten free. I had to laugh at the picture there though. He's sitting by another boy both holding a half eaten cup cake and then the face. It gave me a good visual and a chuckle. Don't get me wrong. It would not be funny if it wasn't gluten free. It's just a great visual of what our children may do or not do when we are not looking.
Glad all is well!

YAY! Glad it was GF! The camp my daughter is going to this summer has tons of kids with CD so they have plenty of GF stuff offered and marked. But, just because it is there, doesn't mean the kids will make the right choices, right? I am sure that's what got you worried! ;) Glad everything is groovy!
