Just got an email from Dr Louis Philipson at University of Chicago reguarding our genetic screening. There is no sequence of the diabetes gene KCNJ11
(Kir6.2) that is responsible for gene mutations in our family. They do keep our DNA samples for additional screenings in the future as other gene mutations are identified. Interesting how there are no found mutations but yet such strong family history in so many people. Hoping one day they eventually find that gene mutation becuase it has to be there somewhere!
