Drum roll....We are going with the Minimed Paradigm Real Time System. :cwds: Surprised?
I cant tell you how crazy I was becoming with all my comparisons. I could see the benefits of all the pumps. For example, I could see why the most popular pump among kids is the Cozmo it just seemed more kid friendly in language and alerts. The Animas has the new screen, cool alarms and small basal rate. Finally of course I think the tublessness of the Omnipod is just the bees knees.
Last week dh and I were talking about something or other about pumps when he asked "why aren't we on the pump yet?" When all the dust settled and I looked at our situation right now and not a possible pump available in the future. I had to conclude that Minimed came closest to what we want for Adin at his age and the moment. That is the CGM and software.
I emailed our Endo a long letter about what we were looking at and what we needed for Adin and she simply replied Medtronic. Doesn't get much clearer than that. :D I am happy but nervous.
