We are having a low day. i'm sure it is from a bunch of exercise after school yesterday. I know that ds is always over 200 at snack time in the morning, if he is not, he has gone very low. He just called and was 89 and they are having 2 snacks. I only had him bolus for 1 and reduce his basal.

This past week he has been running lower all day minus the mornings. He is going to a party after school at a bounce house place. I will disconnect pump prior to the party, but should i reduce his basal before as well?

He is on very little insulin 1:80 so even the slightest bit drops him super fast. When he has a low day, i have him bolus for half of his carbs and it keeps him around 100.

I'll reconnect his pump to bolus for cake which of course happens to be before dinner;)

I would have him reduce basal at least 1-2 hrs prior to party. We've been having lots of lows this week because of the change in weather, so I know exactly what you are experiencing!

I would also only cover for the real sugary snacks and not things like pretzels or chips (we've had some big lows when bouncing). I'd rather have Abby run higher than to go low during a party.

good luck!
