How do you keep the Minilink free of sticky stuff without messing it up? The residue from the IV3000 makes it really sticky but I am worried that wiping it with anything serious might mess up the surface or get on the contacts.

Thanks.

I have been rubbing it off. It takes me a little bit but I can usually "roll" most of it off of the sensor and what is left is usually minimal. I don't want to mess it up either so I have been steering clear of water and removers.

I use Tegaderm and it's much easier to remove than IV3000, no residue at all, ironically it sticks a lot better too!

I had all sorts of residue on our old transmitter and I would very carefully remove it with adhesive remover pads.

Maybe you could stick a piece of tape across where the contacts are to protect them and then carefully clean the top of the transmitter with adhesive remover.

You're just gonna stick another IV3000 on top of it, right? Why clean it?

Once we've got too much goo on there for my wife to be able to stand, alcohol pad cleans it easily. The contacts are wayyy in there, they'll be fine.

We just switched to the tegaderms too, but for the better stick-to-skin reason. I just need to learn how to get it lined up right to only use one. (I keep missing... )

Actually the rep recommended a good, low tech solution. I don't know why I didn't try it earlier:

It involves holding the minilink in on your four fingers and applying pressure to it with your thumb while slowly moving your thumb over the entire surface. The result is that the sticky stuff ends up on your finger in a small ball while the minilink becomes clean. This is a very environmentally friendly approach as no chemical or other pollutant is involved.

It works well.

(Some might call this procedure: rubbing it off :p )
