I was wondering if it's normal to develop an allergy to your insulin. After about 2 years of using Humalog I developed an allergic reaction to it and had to switch to Novolog. I was wondering if that was very common.

I have heard of people having allergies to one type of insulin or another. If NovoLog works for you, then use it.

Hi,

I have had allergies to insulin in the recent past. Humalog and I don't get along well. It makes me very prone to rashes which would spread. Changed to NovoLog and have done fine. I had the same issue with NPH insulin from both Lilly and Novo Nordisk. Insulin allergies aren't common but do exist.
