One year ago today, we heard those heart breaking words that all of you have had to hear..."your child has Type 1 diabetes." I'm sure you all know the roller coaster ride of feelings and emotions we've been on over this past year.:( But...despite all the garbage and stink that diabetes brings, we are thankful to God for many things: a beautiful and healthy little girl (that so far seems quite unaffected by it all), an awesome endocrinologist and CDE, technology (pump), and strength to make it through each day! But I forgot one thing--a HUGE thank you to all of you on this site that keep me sane, help me know that I'm not alone, that are there to answer so many questions, and even give me a good laugh from time to time!:D Thank you, thank you, thank you! Now I have to go find my Kleenex.

It's a big milestone!!!!:cwds: Good job on being such a great mother to your child, and rising to the occasion to keep her safe and healthy!
I think the first year is the hardest, and from here on things will never seem as bad, (at least emotionally).;)
Congratulations to you and your family on surviving, and I hope you celebrate big!!!!

We went to the playground to play and ate ice cream at Zeb's year mark, he couldn't have done either of those things the year before because he was so sick.
Congrats, your whole family deserves a big old yummy treat to celebrate.

Well...we ended up having pizza in the park tonight. Came home and wrote an e-mail to friends and family, thanking them for their thoughts and prayers over the past year. Took the opportunity to do a little educating about the differences between Type 1 and 2. Added some pictures of her site, pump, and meter, along with describing what we do on a day-to-day basis. Now...I end my day in tears. Not a lot of them. It's just a hard reality to think about sometimes. :(
