My girls are in different classes, but on the same team. This means that the teachers teach the same topics at the same time, but the classes do not intermingle.

They are each doing a project on the human body and had to pick a body part. So, what does each one pick? You guessed it the pancreas! I just find it funny that they both picked the same thing. It wasn't on a list, they had to come up with it on their own.

And, they both spelled pancreas correctly! I laugh because Maddy put in the what does it look like section "a pease of steak." She can spell pancreas but she can't spell piece:D

Thats very cute! Of course they picked the pancreas! They are experts on the subject already. DS is doing a section on nutrition right now. He is the class expert on carbs. I didn't know he paid that much attention at home! :)

My twinkies had a school project to do about body systems. Katie Jane had to do the skeletal system so I asked her why she didn't pick endocrine (which was on the list). She said the projects were assigned so she didn't have a choice.
Darn! Katie Jane's chance to educate (her teacher) about her own disease and she didn't get to do it. I guarantee she could have given much more info. than the teacher has ever heard before!

Yes. They tend to gravitate towards some of the same things.
Both their responses about picking the topic was, we knew we had books at home, and they each want to bring "Pancreas Man" to school. Pancreas Man is a paper doll Abby made at Joslins Teddy Bear Clinic years ago. One side is the outside of the body, flip it over and it has all the internal body parts on it. I had it lamenated and bring it to school when I do the talk.

That is cool. They can help each other.

Kaleb is anatomy class and they are studing the endrocrine system. He said he paid more attention to the teacher during her talk than he normally does. He said he did not learn anything but he was happy she was spot on with her information.
