Sam is sorting out his Halloween candy by
Fast acting---skittles and smarties
Med acting--laffy taffy, now and later
Long acting---keep my BG up--snickers, reeses

He is putting a container of fast acting by his bed:cwds:

so funny isn't it? Aidan just traded his brother all of his chocolate stuff for skittles, starbursts and airheads. He said "Austin I have to have these, they are great for lows. You can get by with the chocolate when you are low, but me---I need the strong stuff"

Funny thing is Austin doesn't even have diabetes. :cwds:

Kylee and her friend, who is also diabetic, went together. When they got home they did a lot of sorting too, but theirs was more along the lines of things they didnt like got stuck in their brothers piles:rolleyes: And I swear they are the only two diabetic kids that could go trick or treating and eat candy all night and both end up low at 2 in the morning.

Wow! I wouldn't know which were fast or slow! I am impressed!

Alice sorted hers too - but into pots of 2g each, 5g each, 8g each etc ... every now and then I let her have say 15g of sweets and she chooses her combination from the pots ;)

That is very cute and yes, something only we could appreciate. I'm amazed as well. Very sweet!

My son promptly added some Candy to his low box - but I think that was an excuse to keep his sister out of his favorite candy because she knows better than to raid his box!
