Questions about pizza

I know this has probably been answered before but how do people dose for pizza while on MDI?

I have been on a pump for almost 5 years, but this weekend I am taking a newly diagnosed (2 weeks ago) 15 year old with me to a teen support group/ pizza party. The only problem is that she is a little concerned about eatting pizza because she does not know how to dose for it yet.

Any advice would help.

When Emily was on MDI with Lantus/Novolog, we gave 2 shots: half the carbs at first, and half the carbs a couple hours later.

Pizza seems to be somewhat of a problem for most diabetics:(
We have had to correct Caynun with his sliding scale (novolog) for every kind of pizza except CiCi's. I dont know what it is about their pizza that doesnt make him skyrocket but we dont have to correct when we eat it and his numbers stay in good range all night when we have it for dinner.
