im new here... im 14 and my sis reccomended this site.. i have had diabetes for 10 years and have had a pump for 3-5 im not sure.. anyways i have been helping my sis with the diabetes cause she was diagnosed after me and if any one wants to talk im here to listen

wow, that must of been hard growing up with it, is it easier to keep your spirits up because you are used to it? i certainly hope so because getting it later on is stressful anf depressing for me. i have trouble getting optomistic. welp hope u like the forums ttyl

This is a very good site. There are a lot of teens and wonderful parents who love to talk, give support, and ask/answer questions. I'm always around, I'm on quite a lot, so feel free to talk to me if ever you like :) .
10 years, wow. That is amazing. Kudos to you! I'm 18 and just went on the pump in December. What kind of pump do you have?

yeah it has been a long time but im so used to it! i think after like a year or 2 its a lot easier and u get used to it and having diabetic friends make it a lot easier when i first got it i met my best friend kim she has had it since 2 and we've been bff's since! i have had a few diabetic friends and they help because they really no what your going through

That's awesome to have people in your community that you can be friends with. I live in very small area, I'm the only one in my school that has it, and the only time I see others my age with it is at camp. I agree, after the first 2 years, it gets better.

yeah it is kool but my friend isnt in my communite she live like an hour away but we see each other a lot because r friend r bff's!

Well that's still closer than my closest diabetic friend! I think my closest is 3 hours away.
