Anyone ever have just miserable days because of blood sugars!?

ALLLL weekend long I have NOT been able to get my bs to stay down under 200! On friday my bs was up above 600 - which I got back down in about 4 hours only to have it go low (70) - I felt TERRIBLE allll day long because of the huge swing in blood sugars.
Then saturday it would swing from 270 to 78 allll day long. Then Sunday and today it's not been down under 200 once!

Frustrates me SO much because i will do everything. i've even stayed away from the carbs that usually cause bs issues. I've taken *extra* insulin up to 2 units figuring that maybe at least I'd end up low - but no, i still wont go under 200. And I feel like crap. I had to work for 6 hours yesterday too, and another 6 tomorrow. I don't want to keep feeling this.

I've changed my set 3 times, I've opened new insulin. No ketones. No new habits. No new exercise or lack thereof. ...soooo frustrating. Sorry guys. Just needed to vent. :(

Thomas has been going through the same thing on and off since the end of February. We increase his basals and bolus ratios only to have to go back down again after a couple of weeks, then back up again. It is very frustrating. I am pretty sure his has to do with hormones and growth spurts (12 years old).
I don't think it is growth spurts for you though. Maybe hormones or stress?
I hope you are able to get your #s where you want them and feeling better soon.

Bethany-it's AWEFUL! I also get those big swings and I am a grouch all day cuz of it. When that happens I feel lousy and I can't manage in school. Sorry-don't have any suggestions for you (other than to grow out of the teenage years...I hear it gets easier then) but I did want to tell you that you are not alone-don't know if that is any consolation:rolleyes:

Thanks so much guys. I had another 500 tonight. grr. oh wells, I guess. live and learn.

nantomsuethom, I would have thought stress about a week or two ago - finals week at college, but I'm on spring break now until next monday. Except, now that i think abotu it - i just started a new job - maybe that? ...we'll see. I'm hoping to get that worked out soon, before school starts, preferably.

yeah, it's really no fun to feel soooo bad and not be able to deal with anything with the swings.

thanks for the support :)

Yep, definitly get those!! I have my days where I just can't function because my sugars are just high all day! Then it finally comes down and you get too low! Yep, totally had those days, all too often! It's my spring break too, and all of the sudden my insulin needs went down majorly. I've had to change my carb ratios, sensitivity, and one basal. So yeah, I know what you mean!
