Oh, and another question!

Aaron wants to try the Quick-set using the Quick-serter next (there's a Luer-lock version that we were able to get). But the instructions in the box are pretty minimal (a set of drawings, basically) and I'm a little nervous just winging it.

So for anyone out there who uses this infusion set with the serter -- any tips or things to watch out for? I've heard it's better to stand up while doing it and that it's important to make sure you press BOTH buttons. Do you not pinch up or stretch the skin at all? Is there any way to make sure it's in right (apart from waiting for your BGs to rise?)?

Thanks again, Holly

Hi again,

Yep, it is better to stand up and to push both buttons. You don't have to pinch or stretch the skin at all, just hold the serter to your skin, and push both buttons at the same time! There really isn't a way to tell if it's in right. If it's bent, you're not getting insulin, so after a few hours your sugars will rise. But, as always, make sure the high isn't caused by something else, the set is usually the last thing to think about. Good luck!
